PRESTON AND DISTRICT MCC PRE INJECTION CHAMPION 2014!!!!!

Well after an awesome season of close and competetive racing weve finally done it.

Adam brought his year to a close with an outstanding ride in the final race at weekend. After a timing mistake saw him starting from the back of the grid with his main rival Dan Tomlinson #54 started in 2nd place on the front row of the grid we thought it was all over....

However after The Gitts R6 fired away off the line with an amazing start, Adam managed to fight his way through the pack, gaining positions corner after corner, lap after lap, eventually putting himself into 3rd place behind Dan #54 on the penultimate lap. In a brave last minute move Adam managed to squeeze the R6 underneath Dans GSXR Suzuki on the last corner of the last lap crossing the line in 2nd just a tenth of a second behind first place and claiming the 2014 Championship title.

ACU report from the season finale.

Rylo Racing Pre Injection

Round 6’s Pre Injection run was a very close race with the main action taking place with the front 3 machines – particularly around Lunar.

The frontrunners consisted of Mike Bampton, Dan Tomlinson and Adam Gittings. Bampton pulled away fairly hard as the lights extinguished – although he was not involved in the points battle taking place behind him between rivals Tomlinson and Gittings.

The pair crossed the line literally side by side, but Gittings pushed a little harder on the penultimate lap and set a new track record for this class with a time of 44 seconds.

Race of the weekend had to be the round 7 Pre Injection race as the meeting drew to a close late Sunday afternoon. This championship final saw a huge effort from newly-crowned champ Adam Gittings as the Hyde rookie started from the back and gave everything he could in a truly outstanding run aboard the Yamaha.

Gittings tirelessly fought his way to the front. Once there he had to battle hard with main rival Dan Tomlinson throughout a sensational 9 laps. Gittings bravely grabbed the lead on the final corner to take the title by one point ahead of Tomlinson and if that wasn’t enough, he also smashed the class record on the new circuit layout with a time of 42.66 seconds.

Gittings was clearly amazed with his own work afterwards. Tomlinson on the other hand was a little disappointed after putting up an excellent fight but gave credit to Gittings for his title-winning performance.

3rd place in the Pre-Injection championship went to Martin Clare after a successful and consistent season.

The Gitt Racing featured in a charity news magazine this week for C.R.Y Cardiac Risk in the Young. The CRY logo can be seen displayed on the tail unit of the yamaha, it was put there after loosing a friend to a rare heart disease in the hope it may help to raise awareness of the charity and the great work it does.

Adam hung up his leathers this weekend, picking up the spanners instead for fellow racer Joe Lawrence of JDL Racing. Joe tried out at Donnington Park with the Thundersport GB club with some some very promising results. Adam was there to help Joe with his bike along with the rest of his team to take some of the pressure off the number #888 rider by prepairing the bike before and after each race and making sure everything ran as smoothly as possible. The trip to races also had a second agenda for Adam as he was able to get an idea of how this club is ran and how friendly the Thundersport paddock is in preperation of the hopes for him and Joe to compete here together in the 2015 season.

Its the final countdown!!!

great follow up article in the tameside reporter again highlighting the action from round 5 of the PDMCC Championship .

ACU Report from round 5 .

Norbury pulled out all the stops and exceeded all expectations as he flowed effortlessly around the circuit, wowing the crowds watching from pit lane. Now a member of the 600 brigade, Norbury engaged in the closest of battles with rivals Joe Lawrence (888), Adam Gittings (93) and Martin McGrath (125) - emerging in 2nd place in the qualifier just behind McGrath but then later on winning the championship race for rookies. Now that Norbury has shaken up the Newcomers championship the final battles will be tighter than ever with Joe Lawrence, Martin McGrath and Adam Gittings (93) all looking for a place at the top.

Pre Injection

The rivalry is immense

The Pre Injection class championship is heating up as the finals near with Adam Gittings (93), Daniel Tomlinson (54) and Martin Clare (5) all challenging for the top prize.

Daniel Tomlinson and Adam Gittings were second and third place finishers in both class races, but it was Nick Colley (178) who won each outing, taking maximum points and promising an exciting season finale next month.

Gittings currently sits in the top spot, however only 2 points separate him from Dan Tomlinson in 2nd, ahead of Martin Clare (5) who is catching the pair up with 40 points in 3rd.

New bike, New aims....

After a bit thought it was decided we was going to invest in a newer, faster and more competetive bike for racing in 2015. The machine we settled for was the Kawasaki ZX6R Superstock bike as seen to the left with adam onboard, gently navigating the mountain at cadwell park whilst getting used to the bike for the first time. Adam seems happy with the bike and is set to get a little more tracktime at anglesey on the 5th september before deciding whether or not he is going to enter it into the rookies race at three sisters, wigan on the 14th. After which the plan is to enter into the pre-national 600 class with Thundersport GB at donnington park on the 27th and 28th september which is a more professional level of racing and is usually televised. more news to come on this.

Hurricane Bertha dampens the spirit at mallory park

Adam and fellow racer Joe Lawrence (88) decided to join EMRA  and go mallory park on the 10th august and try to pick up some good results. after looking forward to getting the R6 around mallory for the first ever time in the morning practice, the torrential rain soon put a stop to the day as the meeting was abandoned at 12.30pm with no races or practices ran on the day.

Round 3 and 4 of the season seen some mixed results for the team. Over a two day meeting back at three sisters , wigan, we managed to pick up a 4th and a 2nd in the rookies championship races and a win i the pre injection class on the saturday extending the championship lead further. unfortunately in the sunday pre injection race whilst making his way through the pack heading for the lead, a following rider collided with adam at the hair-pin sending adam off the track and into the grass. Adam managed to get the bike back on the track and got back into the race finally crossing the line in 6th place right behind championship rival Martin Clare (5) which left him with just enough points to retain a 4 point lead going into round 5 in september. 14-07-2014

A few words on the championship races from the official race reports.

round 3 , rookies race

Saturday’s newcomer championship dash saw Lawrence lead for the full race distance, but pursued heavily by James Dickinson (611) in 2nd place. Martin McGrath and Adam Gittings (93) battled very hard with each other for the remaining trophy and championship points, with McGrath eventually picking up the 3rd place prize closely followed home by Gittings. Mike Norbury (26) brought the Honda 400 across the line in a steady 5th position

round 4, rookies race

The championship run was equally entertaining, with Lawrence getting off to a flying start thanks to his earlier qualifying efforts. McGrath also picked up the pace and got progressively quicker as the laps counted down. Gittings also got himself involved in the mix, tailing McGrath throughout the race. A bit of drama at Lunar added to the excitement of the race, but it was Joe Lawrence taking the win as the flag went out, with Gittings and McGrath taking the remaining silverware for Sunday’s rookies.

round 3, pre-injection race

The championship race pace was set by Adam Gittings (93) from the outset during a blisteringly quick ride, although the Gitt Racing pilot was very closely followed by Andrew Jackson (94) and a very eager Dan Tomlinson (54) in an action-packed championship dash. The trio battled hard all the way to the flag but Gittings scooped the top prize with a lead of almost 1.5 seconds, followed in by Jackson and Tomlinson respectively. A little further behind,  Martin Clare (5), David Ransome (71) and Nicholas Lomas (121) fought it out between themselves to eventually finish 4th, 5th and 6th respectively, tallying up points ready for the next round on Sunday. Gittings however stole the show this time out, winning the race and extending the points lead into Sunday’s round.   16-07-2014

The official ACU race report makes for a good read after a productive day at round 2 of the PDMCC  championship for The Gitt Racing.

Victory for The Gitt Racing at round 2 of the preston and district championship at three sisters.

With the weather set to be nice it seemed we was in for a good days racing this weekend. As qualifying got underway it wasnt looking great as we had to start both races dead last at the back of the grid but with two very strong starts meant we managed to qualify 4th and 6th in each class. The lights went out as we started the rookies championship race in 4th, not as good of a start as the earlier qualifying loosing a place or two off the start but managed to claw them back before the front runners got too far away, it was a fast and close race, just managing to close down on second place and take the number 2 spot on the last lap. Feeling confident after a 2nd we lined up on the grid for the pre-injection championship race. Having qualified in 6th put us on the 2nd row of the grid for the start, the lights went out and the bike went off the line like a rocket, firing us straight through into 1st place to start the opening lap. Suprised with the outcome of the first lap we kept on pushing, expecting the following riders to come blasting through at any point but they didnt... we continued to push on to the chequered flag, passing the line a massive 12.7 seconds ahead of the rest of the field picking up our first ever race win !
